Thank you for the kind words. The Color Buffer system I use takes advantage of the characteristics of both buffered and transparent paint. Each type has an advantage, and knowing how each behaves helps to create more realistic work. For example, mixing buffered colors is slow if you want accuracy, but buffered colors are forgiving if you make a mistake. Generally transparents are quick, and good for creating texture, but not forgiving if you make a mistake.
You can get realistic imagery by using transparents only, but they are somewhat limiting. Buffered colors allow you to take the realism to a higher level.
